I had an interview last week, and I’m starting to feel like I’ve been ghosted.

About a week ago, I (34M) had a 90-minute interview with the VP of Brand Strategy and the Project Executive for a company in the A/E/C industry, for a Marketing Specialist position.

Today marks seven days since the interview. I followed up with a thank-you email the day after, summarizing the interview and expressing my enthusiasm for the role. I figured they might be too busy to respond, given their packed schedules.

Earlier today, I sent a follow-up email to the recruiter who initially interviewed me over the phone. I inquired about any updates regarding the position and reiterated my strong interest. I also shared how much I enjoyed meeting the interviewers and how impressive the office was. I haven’t received a response yet, but I did just send the email about an hour ago.

Now, Reddit, I have a few questions for you:

Do you think I’ve got the job? Is it common for hiring decisions to take this long? I know the recruitment process can vary by company and industry. If anyone has insights about the A/E/C sector, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the timeline for hearing back.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! 🙂
