Curious about pricing for full-desk recruitment!
Hi there! I’ve recently taken the plunge to go solo and would love to hear what others are charging for direct hires as full-desk recruiters, as well as for temp and temp-to-hire placements. Thanks!

Congrats on going solo! It can vary quite a bit based on your location, industry focus, and level of expertise, but here are some general guidelines for what recruiters often charge:
Direct Hire: Typically, the fee is a percentage of the candidate’s first-year salary. This usually ranges from 15% to 25%, with some niche industries or higher-level positions going as high as 30%.
Temp Recruiting: For temporary positions, you might charge a markup on the candidate’s hourly wage. This is often between 25% to 100% of the candidate’s pay rate, depending on the role’s demand and your relationship with the client.
Temp-to-Hire: For temp-to-hire placements, you might use a similar structure to direct hire, charging a percentage of the offered salary once the candidate is converted to full-time, typically in the range of 15% to 25% of the candidate’s annual salary.
It’s also helpful to consider your own overhead costs, the value you bring to the process, and what your competitors are charging. Good luck as you start this new venture!
