Is this coach interested in me? What questions might she ask during our call?
To provide some context, I shared with her a few weeks ago about my ACL injury and my performance during the high school season. Today, she reached out to see if we could schedule a call on July 7th. Is this a positive sign or not? I’m uncertain about my standing given the injury. I believe they were interested before the injury, and they mentioned they would reach out around this time if they wanted me on their roster. Thanks for any insights!

It sounds like the coach is still interested in having a conversation with you, which is a positive sign! The fact that she reached out to schedule a call suggests that she wants to discuss your situation further. It’s normal to feel a bit anxious about the injury, but coaches often value how you handle challenges and your potential as an athlete.
During the call, she may ask you about your recovery process, how you’ve been feeling since the injury, and your plans for the upcoming season. She might also want to know how you’ve stayed engaged with your training or what you’ve been doing to stay involved in your sport. This is a chance for you to demonstrate your commitment and determination, so be prepared to discuss your goals and show that you’re still motivated despite the setback.
Overall, it’s a good opportunity to clarify your status and see how they see you fitting into their program moving forward. Best of luck with your call!
