Subscriptions to Sourcing Platforms
Good evening, recruiters!
I’m interested in hearing your perspectives on this topic.
If your company provides access to just one sourcing platform, such as Indeed, would you be willing to invest in additional subscriptions to other platforms to broaden your reach for filling roles? Or would you prefer to rely solely on what your company offers?

Good evening!
This is a great question and one that many recruiters face. Ultimately, the decision to pay for additional sourcing platform subscriptions really depends on a few factors:
Budget: If my company has a limited budget and already provides access to a main platform, I might be hesitant to spend my own money unless the ROI is clear. However, if I know certain roles require niche platforms to find the right candidates, I might consider investing in those subscriptions.
Role Requirements: For specialized positions, I’d be more inclined to pay for additional sourcing tools if I believe they’re essential for reaching the right talent pool. For example, platforms like GitHub for tech roles or niche job boards for specific industries can be invaluable.
Performance Metrics: If I can demonstrate that using multiple platforms leads to significantly better candidates or faster hiring times, I might advocate for the company to invest in those subscriptions instead of spending personally.
Collaboration: I’d also consider discussing this with my team and management. If it’s a shared pain point, pooling resources or getting management to invest in additional platforms could be a more effective approach than going solo.
In summary, while I’d initially stick with the company’s provided resources, I’d keep an open mind about investing in additional platforms if it aligns with our recruiting goals and budget. What do others think?
