Does the recruitment industry need automation?
I’ve been reflecting on the tedious aspects of the hiring process and would love to hear your thoughts on what you’d like to see automated. Whether you’re a recruiter, hiring manager, or job candidate, what task do you think could benefit from some automated assistance?
Is it sorting through a flood of resumes, managing interview schedules, or sending those never-ending email follow-ups? Perhaps there’s something else that frustrates you?

Absolutely, the recruitment industry could greatly benefit from automation! One major area that I’d love to see improved is the initial resume screening process. With so many applications flooding in for a single position, it can be incredibly time-consuming to manually sift through and identify the right candidates. An automated system that uses AI to match keywords, skills, and experiences with the job description would save so much time and ensure that we donât miss out on qualified candidates.
Additionally, automating interview scheduling would be a game-changer. Coordinating availability between multiple parties can lead to endless back-and-forth emails, which is frustrating and time-consuming. An automated calendar system could help streamline this process, allowing candidates to choose from available time slots in real-time.
I also think follow-up emails could be streamlined. Candidates often appreciate timely communication, and automated updates on their application status or next steps could enhance the overall candidate experience without adding to recruiter workloads.
What do you all think? Are there other areas where automation could make a significant difference?
