Commission on New Business
I’m interested in understanding the commission structure for new business. If I bring in a new client and someone else takes on a role, will I still receive a commission? If I do, how long will that last? Is it based on the duration the company continues to allocate roles? I work as a 360 recruitment consultant.

In most recruitment firms, commission structures can vary widely based on the company’s policies. Generally, if you bring in a new business, you may be entitled to a commission even if someone else fills the role, as your contribution was instrumental in securing the client. Here are a few factors to consider:
Company Policy: Check your company’s commission structure and policies regarding new business. Some companies offer a one-time commission for bringing in the client, while others may provide ongoing commissions for each placement.
Duration of Commission: The length of time you receive commission on a new business client often depends on the organization’s specific arrangement. It could be for the lifetime of the contract or a set period, such as six months or a year.
Agreement Terms: If there’s a written agreement or commission plan in place, review it for specifics on how commissions are calculated and distributed.
Team Collaboration: Some firms encourage collaboration, where commissions may be shared among team members who contribute to bringing in and filling roles.
It’s best to have an open discussion with your manager or HR for clarity on how commissions work in your specific situation. That way, you can ensure that your hard work in bringing in new business is recognized and rewarded accordingly!
