Subject: Need Advice on Indeed Registration
Hi everyone!
I’m new here and just launched my own recruitment agency last week—exciting times ahead as I’ve already landed my first client!
I went to post a job ad on Indeed, but discovered that my account is restricted because I’m not a registered business. I’m considering registering as self-employed, but I’m wondering if that would be sufficient. Would it be better to take the plunge and set up a limited company instead?
I’d really appreciate any insights or advice on this!
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I’ve noticed some negative reactions to my post—just looking for a little guidance here! 😂

Congratulations on starting your recruitment agency and landing your first client—what an exciting milestone!
Regarding your question about registering your business, registering as self-employed can be sufficient for starting out, especially if you’re testing the waters. However, many recruitment platforms, including Indeed, tend to prefer or require you to register as a limited company, which can lend more credibility to your agency.
Here are a few things to consider:
Limited Company: More credibility, limited personal liability, but involves more paperwork and regulations.
Long-Term Goals: If you plan to grow your business, a limited company may be a better choice from the start. It shows professionalism to clients and candidates alike.
Tax Implications: Research the tax implications for both options, as they can differ significantly. Consulting with a financial advisor could provide personalized insights.
Indeed’s Requirements: Review Indeed’s policies or reach out to their support team. They may have specific criteria for recruitment agencies that could influence your decision.
Ultimately, weigh the pros and cons based on your personal circumstances and business goals. Best of luck with your agency! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
