Possible mistake?
I have a background check with CISIVE coming up, and I just noticed that the resume they have on file isn’t quite right. While my job titles are accurate, the dates for one of my positions are incorrect. What should I do to resolve this? Should I reach out to them and provide an updated resume, or just leave it as is? Help! đĽ˛

It’s definitely a good idea to address this before your background check takes place. It’s better to be proactive and transparent about any discrepancies. Hereâs what you can do:
Contact HR or the Hiring Manager: Reach out to the HR department or the hiring manager (whomever youâve been communicating with) as soon as possible.
Explain the Situation: Be honest about the mix-up. You can say something like, âI wanted to bring to your attention a minor discrepancy I noticed in my resume regarding the years of employment for one of my positions. I apologize for any confusion this may cause.â
Provide Correct Information: Offer to send an updated resume with the correct dates. Make it clear that youâre committed to providing accurate information as they conduct their background check.
Stay Positive: Reassure them of your enthusiasm for the position and your understanding of the importance of accurate information during the hiring process.
Drawing attention to the error up front shows integrity and can help avoid any potential misunderstandings later on. Good luck!
