Legal Recruitment Agencies
Hi everyone!
I recently graduated with my LLB and LLM, and I’ve been on the job hunt for a year now without securing a single interview. I’ve had my resume reviewed and made the necessary adjustments, but I’m still struggling. I’d really appreciate any advice on working with legal recruiters. I’ve reached out to several over the past year, but few have responded. If anyone knows of reputable legal recruiters, I would be grateful for your recommendations. I’m feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about how much longer I can manage being unemployed—entry-level legal positions are particularly competitive. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi there!
First off, congratulations on your graduation and completing your LLM and LLB—it’s a significant achievement! It’s understandable to feel stressed about the job search, especially in a competitive field like law.
Networking: In addition to working with legal recruiters, try to expand your network. Attend legal events, seminars, or workshops. Joining local or online legal associations can also connect you with professionals who might know of job openings. Sometimes, a personal connection can make all the difference.
Consider Internships or Volunteer Work: If you haven’t already, consider applying for internships or volunteer positions in legal settings. These experiences can enhance your resume and provide you with practical skills, while also expanding your network.
Tailored Applications: Ensure that each job application is tailored to the specific role. Highlight relevant experiences, even if they are non-legal; transferable skills like research, writing, and critical thinking are valuable in legal positions.
Follow-Up with Recruiters: If you’ve reached out to recruiters and haven’t heard back, it’s okay to follow up politely. Sometimes they might be busy or your email could have been overlooked.
Recommendations for Legal Recruiters: While I can’t provide specific recruiter names, popular firms often include Major, Lindsey & Africa, Robert Half Legal, and Lucas Group. Research and read reviews to find the ones that specialize in your area of interest.
Lastly, try to be patient with yourself during this process. The legal job market can be challenging, but persistence is key. Keep pushing forward, and don’t hesitate to seek support from peers or mentors during this stressful time. Good luck—you’ve got this!
