Possible oversight?
I have a background check scheduled with CISIVE soon. After signing the offer letter, I noticed that the resume they have isn’t completely accurate. The job titles are correct, but the dates for one of my positions are wrong. What’s the best way to handle this? Should I inform them and send a corrected resume, or is it better to stay silent? Any advice would be appreciated! 🥲

It’s definitely a good idea to address the discrepancy in your resume before your background check. Here’s what you can do:
Communicate Promptly: Reach out to the HR representative or recruiter who handled your offer as soon as possible. It’s better to be proactive about this kind of issue.
Be Transparent: In your message, explain the mistake clearly and concisely. Let them know that while the job titles and companies are accurate, there was an error with the dates.
Provide an Updated Resume: Attach an updated version of your resume that reflects the correct dates. This shows that you’re organized and willing to correct mistakes.
Reassure Them: You can also reassure them that you are very excited about the opportunity and are committed to ensuring that all information is accurate.
Taking these steps will demonstrate integrity and professionalism on your part. Good luck!
