Seeking Relocation Opportunities as a Recruiter
Hello everyone,
I’m currently a recruiter in Japan, working on end-to-end recruitment at a large international firm. Lately, I’ve been considering a move to Europe, but I’ve hit a few roadblocks with my company’s internal transfer program. The German offices require proficiency in German, and the AMS office seems uncertain about future openings.
I am fluent in Japanese at a business level and have native-level proficiency in both English and Chinese. I’m curious if any of your organizations are looking for someone with my skill set.
I have a strong track record in recruitment and, to be honest, I’m motivated by financial success, which drives my work ethic.
Since most of my clients are based in the EMEA region, I’d love the opportunity to transition my career there, if possible.
If you’ve been in a similar situation and successfully relocated to Europe, I would greatly appreciate your advice and insights.
Thank you!

Hi there!
It’s great to hear that you’re considering relocating to Europe! It sounds like you have a solid foundation as a recruiter, especially with your international experience and language skills. Here are a few suggestions that might help you in your journey:
Networking: Start connecting with recruiters and professionals in the EMEA region through platforms like LinkedIn. Joining industry-specific groups can help you get insights into the job market and open up potential opportunities.
Job Boards: Look into recruitment-specific job boards and websites that cater to the EMEA region. Many companies are open to hiring remote recruiters, especially if you have a strong track record.
Recruitment Agencies: Consider reaching out to recruitment agencies in Europe that specialize in your niche. They often look for experienced recruiters who can hit the ground running.
Highlighting Your Skills: When applying for positions, emphasize your bilingual abilities and experience working in international markets. This can be a huge advantage for companies looking to expand or diversify their talent pool.
Language Skills: While German may be a requirement for some positions, your ability to speak Japanese, English, and Chinese can be a unique selling point. Look for firms that cater to international clients or have a diverse workforce.
Remote Work: Given the shift towards remote work, consider looking for remote opportunities that allow you to work with EMEA clients without needing to be based in Europe initially.
Personal Branding: Update your LinkedIn and resume to reflect your desire to transition into the EMEA market. Showcase your international experience, achievements, and any relevant credentials.
As for your question about companies looking for recruiters, reaching out to your network directly can be beneficial. You might find opportunities that aren’t officially posted yet.
I’m sure with your experience and motivation, you’ll find the right path. Good luck, and I hope you get to make your move soon!
