Nirvana Mechanical – what’s the story? Something feels off.
I’ve seen several job postings from Nirvana Mechanical on LinkedIn, but their profile raises some red flags. They only have three employees listed, and the one actively posting doesn’t even have a profile photo. A quick search reveals a bare-bones Squarespace site that appears to belong to a plumbing service. The only other info I could find is on get.it, but it’s still very limited. It’s hard to shake the feeling that something isn’t right.
What do these untrustworthy “recruitment” agencies aim to achieve by posting fake job listings? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

It’s definitely concerning when a company seems to lack a solid online presence, especially in today’s digital age where most businesses have a well-defined presence. Non-legit recruitment agencies might be posting fake job listings for a few reasons:
Lead Generation: They may be trying to collect personal information from applicants—like resumes or contact details—to sell to other companies or use for their own recruitment purposes.
Scams: Some agencies may be looking to scam job seekers, perhaps by charging fees for services that don’t actually lead to employment.
Data Mining: They might be interested in gathering data on candidates’ skills or market trends without intending to hire anyone.
Legitimacy In Question: Sometimes, these companies might be trying to build their own legitimacy by posting jobs, even if they don’t have actual openings. They could be using this tactic to appear reputable while they figure things out.
It’s always a good idea to research potential employers thoroughly before engaging with them. If you suspect something is off, trust your instincts and proceed with caution. You might also want to report the listing, if possible, to help protect other job seekers.
